I’m Alone At Home! Part 3. Poem by Konstantin Ananin

I’m Alone At Home! Part 3.

Your time’s up! I wanna lunch.
If you want, I’ll bring some punch.
Lunch, lunch, lunch. What have we got?
Ah! I think I’ll eat a lot.
Shut up, Polly! What a speech!
I wish parrots had a switch.
What d’you mean ‘I know all’?
Ha! You saw that madam fall!
Did you like it? What d’you say?
‘Mom’? What ‘Mom’? You won’t! Hey!
What I hear from my friend!
‘We aren’t friends’…, and your speech meant
Mom would learn what I had done
With the ice. It’s real fun.
Who d’you wanna terrify?
Me? Your friend? I wonder why.
‘We aren’t friends’… Well-well. Again.
Can you answer me since when?
What sweets, Polly? They’re bad
For your teeth, you know that,
And you can’t eat them at all…
Who said ‘can’? My uncle Paul?
If you mean you’ve no teeth,
And that’s why you can eat sweets,
You’re wrong! He didn’t add
What you need, my dear pet!
You should have a sweet tooth, Polly.
Polly! Please! Stop cursing! Golly!
You’ll get nothing, let alone
We have no sweets at home.
But I’ll go and buy some
If you don’t talk to Mom.
Yes, I promised, but before
I’ll have lunch and wash the floor…
