I'M Already Somebody Poem by Edwina Reizer

I'M Already Somebody

I don't have to be somebody
that I am not.
I'm already somebody,
happy with what I've got.

I've got you and that I know
is all I'll ever need.
It makes the somebody that I am
always exceed
the somebody that I'm not.

To try and be somebody else
might make you love me less.
The thought of that is much too sad.
I need our togetherness.

I can content myself everyday
when you hold my hand.
All the other somebodies
could never understand
what it is they're missing.

They're missing out on a lot
for they're missing what I've got.
