I'M An Angel Poem by Courtney Shanahan

I'M An Angel

The sun shines down like a street lamp in the night
The sky is covered with clouds but I’m covering with sunlight
The darkness around you can never be changed
Lightness will never be in your life again
You have already done the deed so move on and don’t come back
Forgiveness will pass on by but cannot stop for you
It doesn’t have time for your childish games
You hurt me bad and scarred my face and skin
Put me into a dark, damp hole
Did you honestly think that that would stop the light from shining?
Stop the angels from calling my name
Ha! You’re just like the other one
The other one that hurt me the same way you did
I cannot trust another one but an angel can recover
