I'M Breaking Free Poem by Mona Willis

I'M Breaking Free

Rating: 5.0

There's only so much longer I can stay
This Way
There's only so much more I can hold
On to
I know it isn't right
Yet I still continue
If im to make things right
I must start now
Must start to change my paths
And stop looking down
Cause no matter what you see
I'll be who I am
No matter who you free
It'll only be me
Cause I’m
Breaking Free
No longer will I let things influence me
No longer will I let things get the best of me
I'm breaking free
From all eternity
I'll only be me
And no one in between
So regardless of what anyone has to say
I'm stating this today
That I’m breaking free
You may not understand it
You may reprimand it
But I’ll still keep moving on
Cause I’ve learned to just be strong
Im sick of living a lie
Im sick of trying to try
To be what I can’t be
To see things I’ll never see
To hold on to useless dreams
That only bring harm to me
I refuse
To let anyone
Me confuse
To thinking that what I really am….is wrong
That everything I sing….is just a bad song
That everything I do….is just played out
That everything I try…is just the wrong route
I’ll continue to shy
Cause
I’m Breaking free
From all eternity
I’ll only be me
And no one in between
So regardless of what anyone has to say
I’m stating this to day
That I’m….Breaking…Free

Mona, Excellent write especially for me right now. I am in a relationship and have repeated your exact words in my head repeatedly for a couple of years. You actually took the words out of my mouth. Thanks! Rene'
