I'm Confused

There was a time I felt scared.
But it happens to be I was confused.
I tried to understand all the whys in my life.
But all it did was frighten me.

I couldn't do this and I couldn't do that.
I blame my fears.
I didn't know right from wrong.
Now I Know there's neither.
I didn't know witch direction to turn.
Now I know I can go either.
I didn't know who I was looking for.
I just wasn't looking the right direction.
I didn't know what I was looking for.
I was just never taught.
I didn't know who to reach out to.
I just didn't know how to ask.

I tried turning on the light.
But it was still too dark.
I tried getting lost in the melody.
But no song was ever long enough.
I tried shouting.
But all I heard were mumbles.

I tried shouting again.
But I was too far.
I tried looking for it.
But all I ever found was void.
I tried praying.
But I was doing it wrong.

Finally… I gave up!

You see… I'm still confused.
But now I understand it.

I was very confused.
All I seemed to do was fight it.
If I wasn't confused.
Would I have feared it?
If I wasn't confused.
Would I have sought out for it?

You see… It was never confusion I was after.
Just the light that came right after.
