I'm Editing My Love For You
I'm editing my love for you
Time and time again
I'm learning daily
To be a better friend
Reading the good books
Re-examinating what I thought it took
And knowing your feelings aren't always the way I think they look
I'm editing my love for you
More and more each day
I'm learning daily
What to and what to not say
I'm asking God through prayer
To help us both to always care
So that we can treat each other better than fair
I'm editing my love for you
With deep concern for what is best
I'm learning daily
When to share my opinion and when to let the discusion rest
But as we go along this road
Whether gently or very bold
I hope my love for you is more than just words told
Not just a clever poetic Ode
Not just a slobbery wet toad
But warm and bright and forever Gold
