I'M Not A Number Poem by Leonard Dabydeen

I'M Not A Number

Rating: 5.0

I am not
a number
not today
not tomorrow
nor the day after
not even a stroke
on a keyboard
to watch a monitor
scribble aliases
of myself
in numerical values
or marked
like a prisoner
in a jail-house
nor am I ever
a tab at a blood clinic
waiting for a vampire
needle to plunge
at my flesh
withdrawing
blood for DNA
I am who I am
always making
a name for myself
I am not
a number.

We most certainly all feel that way at times. In verses we express it with rhymes. This is yours, that is mine. Great Poem Man.
