I'm Not Ready

That first moment of
getting up on stage
ready to do something
perform something
nobody has heard
before
shaking in my boots
but there is nobody
out on the floor
nobody but
the bar staff
the doorman
and the sound guy
yet it's making
me scared
terrified to get up
their
stand their and play
do something that can
change everything
in my life
i wont forget this moment
the lights will hit
and it will start
the music will get
pumping
now just to get
up their
and do it
then i can
get down
grab a beer and get
drunk
after it's done
i wont be looking back
all i have to do
is stop myself from shaking
throw off these nerves
make that first
step
get up their and
do it
are you ready
because i'm not.

ARM’D year! year of the struggle!
No dainty rhymes or sentimental love verses for you, terrible year!
