I’m Scared Poem by Michael P. Johnson

I’m Scared

I’m scared my God, because I care
Because of life’s true Way
Life’s temptations everywhere
Challenge most every day

I know my spirit’s strong and tough
But flesh, is oh so weak
I fear I’ve never tried enough
When times Your face I seek

Almighty God, I know You are
Creator, Lord of all
My faith stretches however far
Still, I fear to fall

Each time I’ve thought of Heaven’s door
Temptation’s come between
You know how much I’ve failed before
How often weak I’ve been

My God I know You truly love me
I’m saved, in Jesus sound
Yet though from sin, You’ve set me free
Will I dwell on Holy Ground?

Will I rise with Christ Your Son, Lord?
Jesus, life’s righteous King
Please help me flee Your judgement sword
My gratitude to sing

Your endless praise will always be
From deep within my heart
For Your grace, Your love, Your Guarantee
From me! Will never depart

This may sound a contradiction
Twixt faith and foolish doubt
But let Christ be my conviction
Life’s victory cry to shout…..
