I'm sorry I'm not perfect
like the ones you go on about
how great they wore there hair
and the things that they did
Even though you told me
you loved the things I did,
that they never did for you

I'm sorry I'm not perfect
or the girl that didn't last
but I can at least say that I tried my best
I took care of you when you were sick
I helped you dressed before
and after you were done
and helped you bathe
and sat in the room
til you were done
I gave you what you needed so you could relax
sat straight up to sleep so you could lay on my lap
even though I was sick myself

I'm sorry I'm not perfect
but I hope you'll wake up
and realize before it's to late
the great things that we had
and how much I would do for you
before I give up, and move on for good
