I’m Writing To You Out Of Habit Poem by Jolanta Gradowicz

I’m Writing To You Out Of Habit

I’m writing to you out of habit -
Daily joy or a duty of my heart.
I can’t deny it – desired and favorite,
A nice pursuit when we are apart.

You read my letters out of habit -
Daily joy or politeness of you,
Something nice to a morning omelet
Or to a cup of tea – it may be true…

You don’t answer me out of habit -
You’re unconventional or impolite,
Or not in the habit of being intimate.
It may be too big an effort to write…

Yet, I’m writing to you out of habit -
It’s a real joy and a duty of my heart.
I can’t deny it – desired and favorite,
A nice pursuit when we are apart…

i like this poem. it's really kind of sad, but i know what it means. like your friend, or lover, used to be close and then you grew apart and kept in contact even though you knew it was useless but you did'nt want to give up hope. or.... maybe that's just me.
