I Must Let Go Poem by Karla Bell

I'm hurting so much,
and i can't hold on to the tears much longer,
they are backing up in my throat
I fear I will choke.

How pain takes hold and controls,
no reason can be seen because the haze dampens any effort of release,
your finger tips hold on to the cliff
waiting for a rescue
but the build up of tears or years
weighs a little heavier
NO rescue team, I am the rescue team,
let go and I'll fall into the lake of stones,
hold on and be brave.
All this for something you have loved more than life,
something that grew in your heart and soul,
something, someone you gave Life to, I gave life to
I must let go little one
