I Need No More Poem by Michael P. Johnson

I Need No More

Though Satan would feed cunning lies
His co hordes seek to kill
I need but look in Jesus’ eyes
So that love; could refill

Rather anguish, troubles and pain
Bruises through stick and stone
Face dangers again and again
Than walk through life alone

I need God’s Son I need His hand
Where storms and torrents flow
For this I’ve learned to understand
That Jesus loves me so

Rather go hungry suffer death’s sting
With thorns and thistles entwine
Than face one day without my King
Without his hand in mine

If He’d leave me, where would I be?
Fear would entomb my mind
Where could I go how could I see?
Without my God I’m blind

Without His guidance I would stray
I need my Saviours arm
I need His Lamp to find the way
To flee from certain harm

My future, would be less than dim
Without His tender care
The thought, of one day without Him
Is more than I can bear

I’m glad I heard my Saviour’s call
Received His truth divine
Now deep inside I have it all
Since Jesus’ love is mine
