I Once Followed A Rainbow Poem by Mal Sharp

I Once Followed A Rainbow

I once followed a rainbow, on a fine summers day.
To see what lay hidden, under it's colourful ray.
The sky was without a cloud, my destination clear.
The end of the rainbow, constantly coming near.
What would I find? I wonder, at the end of the line.
A pot of gold I hope, or something just as divine.
My journey nearly over, one last hill to ascend.
I think now to myself, I hope I chose the right end.
