I Pretend Poem by Nisho Olme

I Pretend

I walk along the shallow stream
Of feelings that you show
And silently I wonder if
I’m ever going to know
The river pushed me out
Before you ever let me in
And as I slowly walk away
I let the darkness win
The breeze your absence left flows through
The comfort that I wear
And in the silence of your hate
I pretend that you care
