I Realized Early On Poem by Raymond Farrell

I Realized Early On

I realized early on
Back in elementary school
That the best and brightest
Were the most compliant
This whole colossus
Known as the education system
Is designed to teach people
What to think
Not how to think
This is achieved
By employing, the average and mediocre
Who, for the most part
Do not know how to think
Consequently, none of their students
Will be able to do so either
Everywhere around the globe
The hierarchy of subjects emphasized
Is remarkably the same
Why?
Because the system
Was set up to meet the needs of industry
And to do so
An elaborate filter was put in place
To be sure a steady flow
Of consumers and producers
Trickles down into
The swirling cauldron of humanity
To keep the system operating
As smoothly as possible
If you are not submissive
You're out
If you're too independent
You're out
If you think for yourself
You're out
Why?
Because you are dysfunctional
And cannot be useful
In the institutions of society
There is no pigeon hole
To stick you in
You must either get with the program
Or get lost!

Yep, isn't it sad to think of how we're being screwed over everyday...sometimes I'm honestly not sure people realize this or they just decide to be oblivious. if your not submissive, You're out...You're out if you think for yourself some of my favorite lines.
