What do you think this poem is about?

I Remember

I remember the day we met
And knowing that I would fall for you

I remember staring into your eyes
And the world just disappeared

I remember the butterflies you gave me
And how they never truly went away

I remember feeling I had always known you
And it had only been a week

I remember when you became mine
And I thought I couldn't be happier

I remember the days that followed
And how you proved that I was wrong

I remember when you said I love you
And how you cried when I didn't say it too

I remember how important you really were
And how you smiled at me when I poured my heart out

I remember being scared of how we felt
And running away from the commitment

I remember breaking your heart that day
And convincing myself I did not need you

I remember knowing what I had lost
And thinking I would never get it back

I remember you always being on my mind
And seeing you with others killed me inside

I remember asking for a second chance
And you giving it to me with no hesitation

I remember being overwhelmed with joy
And promising I would never make the same mistake

I remember wanting nothing to come between us
And how people tested us every step of the way

I remember thinking you would give up on me
And that the thought never crossed your mind

I remember smiles
I remember tears

I remember fear
I remember heart break

I remember fights
I remember make-ups

Most of all I remember love
And I would not trade it for the world

Poet's Notes about The Poem

I wrote this poem for my grade 12 writing class. Poetry is not my greatest strength, but this poem does mean a lot to me because of its meaning.
