I Shall Prefer Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

I Shall Prefer

Rating: 5.0

The earth gave beautiful plant
Exactly the same I had wanted
It was love with pleasure
I had plenty of joy not to measure

I am totally free from any kind of yoke
This is amply true and not simple joke
You had insisted many times
I had differed and rejected each times

I can not be simple woman
Even though I had felt like human
A body with simple soul
Ready to respond love and call

What will be passion object?
When I have no power to react?
My wings are cut much to the annoyance
They were real inspiration at once

Even though I had dream of being united
Your attitude was not quite related
It lacked strength and devoid of warmth
It was slowly pushing me to death

I breathed uneasily
Your love was not that silly
You wanted me under your strict observance
I valued it sincerely but it lacked perseverance

I shall prefer not to be dominated
Loved dearly but not nominated
I am simple entity with emotion
Can you love me with simple compassion?
