I Slept Alone, I Woke Alone Poem by Janine Alyssa Navarro

I Slept Alone, I Woke Alone

Devoid of sleep
sweat on skin
reaching out for you
I feel laundered space.
In the middle of the night
you woke me
poking at my chest
a regular haunting.
I open my eyes
there was nobody there;
I slept alone,
I woke alone.
