I Stood Alone Poem by Weldon Davis

I Stood Alone

I stood alone
Days gone by
Far from life, love, a home
I stood alone

Made my own path
On my own
No matter how weak I got
I stayed strong

I stood alone
In this world of
Takers, fools, and fakers
Hypocrites, hypochondriacs, harlots, and honeycombs
I stood alone

Mixed crews
Changed views
Put my soul on lease
For the devil to clone

I stood alone

Cried
No comfort inside
The whole world
In my mind
I tried to roam
No one understood though
So
I stood alone
