I thought

I thought you were different
I thought you were pure
I thought you were perfect
I thought you were more
I thought you were special
I thought you were great
I thought you were level
I thought you I'd never hate
I thought you would be the one
I thought you would make things right
I thought you I could depend on
I thought you were my life
I though you were in love
I thought you'd never cheat
I thought you were my dove
I thought you'd never leave
I thought you'd never give up
I thought you were strong
But guess what
I thought wrong

Poem of the Day

poet Ralph Waldo Emerson

Knows he who tills this lonely field
To reap its scanty corn,
What mystic fruit his acres yield
At midnight and at morn?

In the long sunny afternoon,
