Sara Teasdale is definately one of my all-time favorite poets... if not my very favorite. This poem humbles me in its beauty. The description of beach and the sea creates lovely images. The sorrow of a love lost contrasts with the beauty of the waves. So bittersweet. It's a definite 10! (Report) Reply

I agree with Michele, this is a beautiful and atmospheric poem. It also manages to combine a wistful sorrow with hope, rare in most poetry. I found it moving. (Report) Reply
