The Invictus Games in London
Have finished here today,
But I, too, am INVICTUS.
'Why is that'? ~ I hear you say.
For at the age of Seventy,
My right leg was amputated at the knee,
Being hit by a Supermarket trolley
In the year two thousand and three.
Each day when I do get up,
And praise YOU LORD for another day,
Hoping to do some good,
For there are more hours to work and play.
I have lived Seventy Years on two legs,
LORD may I have another Seventy on one
To help other amputees enjoy life
As for Seven Months I have done.
The Invictus Games were for the Forces
Injured throughout the World,
But I, too, am INVICTUS,
So let My Story also be told.
