I'Ve Not Seen You At All Poem by Jerry Pike

I'Ve Not Seen You At All

I’ve Not Seen You At All

I’ve never seen you nowhere, I’ve not seen you at all,
I’ve dreamt where dreams grow hazy, and spiders climb the wall,
to see if there’s escaping, to see if ceilings fall,
so staring up I’ve seen you, but maybe, not at all.

I heard you chat last weekend, or was it just today,
you rambled on hypnotically, I’d next to nought to say,
but smiling through the night time, subconsciously I lay,
and placed the dreams of always, down close to yesterday.

I watched you picking daisies, the film edge clicked and blurred,
but I was there, I promise, but didn’t say a word,
and wallowing inside love, I saw that singing bird,
on boughs that bowed to heaven, I knew it was absurd.

I promise on my honour, or anything you name,
that we’ll meet somewhere, someday, as if we’re still the same,
and generate emotions, we never got to plant,
and walk that southern seashore, to be where people aren’t.
