I Wanna Be Just Like You Poem by Taylor P. Donnelly

I Wanna Be Just Like You

I wanna be just like you

Do those things you do

You have such a pretty face

And beauty with your grace

I looked up to you

Because it was the only thing i could do

But now with eyes meet square

I still feel the same i still care

You spoke logic when i screamed emotion

To me it was a strange notion

You helped me when i was scared

And prepared me when i was ill prepared

Showed me things before my time

Like music, and how to stretch a dime

We played legos and dress up

Dreams of traveling though europe

I wanna be just like you

We shared secrets

Sad regrets

Shiny barrettes

It wasnt like some nice tv show

I'll remind you now so you know

We fought, we fight

We both thought we were right

But when the tears fell

I'll be here though life's hell

Because though bad and good

We stay strong as we should

I love you i know i dont say it enough

Less so when things get tough

But i do

And I'm always here for you

...

To my sister to show how much i care 3
