I want to write a poem so sweet
That you would tingle to your feet

Paint a picture so totally sublime
That lasting pleasure would be thine

To sculpt a peaceful quiet scene
Overflowing with beauty so serene

It would bring tears to your cheeks
And the love that your lonely heart seeks

The palette would be words so pure
Magical words that's for sure

Imagination the canvas on which I draw
The most beautiful things I ever saw

But alas today I'm not up to the task
If only I could take a nip of my flask
