I Was Baptized A Christian Poem by Francis Duggan

I Was Baptized A Christian

Rating: 5.0

I was baptized a Christian in that I did not have a say
And don't waste your prayers on me when I do pass away
If there is a hereafter for my own sins I must pay
What goes around comes around as some are known to say
Since religion never defines good from bad
If you believe I must have a religion for you I feel sad
To not believe in a greater God out there should never be a sin
Though I do give some credence to a God within
If he is one who is scathing of those of different faith
The God you believe in Cannot be that great
A true God all religions as well as believers and non believers would embrace
Of every nationality and of every race
Of me do not worry for your own soul you pray
For the sins of my past I am willing to pay.
