I Was Once Told... Poem by Gerald Flippinhanger

I Was Once Told...

I was once told...
that pigs could fly
that the world would never end
that time will never stop
that unicorns were indeed real
that love is the most powerful emotion
that love is the most powerful act
that love made you a man
that alchohol made you a man
that being a kid was the best
that being an adult was the best
that being retired was the best
that being dead was the best
that being alive was the best
that the grass is always greener on the other side
that sometimes sand is better than grass
that fairytales aren't true
that fairytales are true
that living is important
that dying is even more important
that you must make yourself memorable
that you must leave you mark
that you must make yourself loved

I once told...
that you should ignore everything you have been told
