You lay in your crib a total presence
Unexpected beyond the imagination of love

And hope and a father's daydream
The way it is

The new-born sings first his own poem
His innocence comes before our clothing

The way it is
Before impatient statements of your flesh

Before my clumsy meanings
For you are child only for a moment
