I Went For A Walk Poem by Hazel O'Dell

I Went For A Walk

I went for a walk in the forest.
The trees were stark and bare.
The wind moaned through the branches
And l wondered if God were there.

I went for a walk in the forest.
The snow lay white and deep.
Each branch was wrapped in ermine
Tucked in for a long winter's sleep.

I went for a walk in the forest.
New life was everywhere.
I felt the sense of nearness
And I knew that God was there.
