I Went Out This Morning/ To Find A Poem

I WENT OUT THIS MORNING/TO FIND A POEM

I went out this morning
To find a poem-
But the heat was too great
The sun too strong
I had to find the shade instead
And finding it
I sat down on a green metal bench
And waited for
The line which
Might mean a poem
Has been written.

Instead a cool breeze
And a sense of rest and happiness
Came to me.

Life as it is now is a poem for me-
I don't know how long it will last
But here now
How happy I am
As this small poem is being written now.
