I Will Not Change Poem by Edwina Reizer

I Will Not Change

Golly gee, what's become of me?
Have I lost my sense of humor?
Have I become a doom and gloomer?

Maybe this is just a stage
that I am passing through right now.
I will get out of this somehow.

I must not allow events of today
to come and change who I am
and to become just like them.

I will scatter myself to the winds
and find a beautiful place
and change the look upon my face.

I'll search for the smile that was mine,
and keep it my intent
to keep myself content.
