I Will Not Pass.... Poem by David Levitas

I Will Not Pass....

I will not pass beyond the pale
Though there the rivers flow from out the grail.
My eye it shall not stray the rail
Though mocking stares they shake what man must fail;
My ears they shall not bend the sigh
Though laughter yelps to break the collars tie;
My tongue it will not bite the lie
Though hard the chaff I eat in fields of rye;
My hand it will not lift the veil
Though pearls in golden weave glistening curl.
I will not pass beyond the pale
Though all I know in life their sails unfurl.
