I Wish For A Pet! Poem by Camille Kleinm.

when lying all alone at night in bed,
i wish i had something to cuddle by my head,
i wish I had something to love and kiss,
something that whenever i go me will miss.
I wish to have something cuddely and nice,
which will eat up all the nasty mice!

I wish i had a little pet,
that to cuddle and kiss, me it would let.

I also wish, a little childs wish,
to feed it warm white milk from a dish!

I also wish it to be my friend/
and loads of lonely time with it to spend.

I wish it to fill my days with joy,
just like a child with a new toy.,

I wish to make it happy too,
to play and talk with it just like with you!

to cuddle it and play with it mother,
and then pretend that it is my little brother.

And finally dress it up in my old dolls clothes,
and tie ribbons from it's head to its toes!

And push it round on my little toy pram,
and sing to it 'my little gray lam..'

and sometimes when my mother wouldn't see,
i'd sneak it some food under the table from me!

i'd love it, i'd pet it, i'd play with it too,
and i'd never complain, oh no, i'd play all day through!

Oh mamy oh mamy may i not have a pet?
wont you me a little cat or dog let?
Wont you oh wont you oh pleas say you will,
i'll even from my pocket money pay the bill,

Oh come on say yes, i know that you will
i know that you'll say yes in the end,
so why so much time without a pet i must spend?
You say 'when Your older' but how long will it take?
Will i be so old that i quiver and shake?

Oh mami oh Mami oh please say Today!
Please make it that it's true what i pray...
Please make it be that my wishes come true,
please make it be that i will get a pet from you!

Oh please get me a friend, a dog or a cat,
even if you say i already had a mouse and rat,
make me happy,
and i will even bake you a cake!
