I Wish I Am Poem by Joanna Maria Lozano

I Wish I Am

I wish I am a butterfly,
Playing happily with the flowers in the garden
Not a girl who always cry,
Bearing this life’s heavy burden

I wish I am a bird,
Singing happily in the branches of the trees
Not a girl in a cage,
Of others’ great dreams and responsibilities

I wish I am a cloud,
Flying so high in the vast blue sky
Not a member of this crowd,
Living this foggy life, without knowing why

I wish I am the wind,
Which blows and plays with the leaves of the trees
Not a girl who needs to bend,
When life’s great storms come to ruin my dreams

I wish I am…
I wish I am a stronger one….
