I Wish I Could Write A Love Poem Poem by Shelby Barker

I Wish I Could Write A Love Poem

(I wish I could write a Love poem)
without sounding pathetic or childish
with my simple rhymes and goofy smile just
at the sight of your toothsome physiognomy
You’re seen by my eyes and in my dreams
so, I, wish I could write delicate words
wooed straight to your heart to sojourn
while sounding substantial and precise,
perhaps ringing as thoughtfully wise
I wish through Love I could remain
sharp enough to cut red tape,
for the side effects are vertiginous
while holding these scissors my vision is
Blurry and wobbly are my knees
as my kismet reveals You, Lovely
Lovely Love Love has got me unable to stand
only desiring the upper hand
I wish I could write a Love poem
entitled as So Long Lonesome
I wish I wish but try as I might
I am Lovestruck and unable to write
