I Wish My Mind



I WISH MY MIND

I wish my mind,
Could spend all its time,
In the world of Poetry.

So much outside and inside,
Frightens me.

Lines of beauty and kindness,
Quiet and calm-
Lines which make life seem as if
It really can be a higher art.

All this from a soul
That needs to escape,
And cannot.
