I Wonder... Poem by Jaimee Jenkins

Sometimes I wonder just how far this will go,
will this collapse and exhale its last breath
or burst out of the seed and continue to grow.
Sometimes I wonder if we will just stop watering this plant,
get tired of pruning the leaves until there isnt one left,
and put down the fertilizer and just give up and say we cant.
Sometimes I wonder if our flowers will ever get to bloom,
grow tall and strong and all we can do is smile
yet our smiles waver because we cant just assume.
Hard work doesnt always pay off.
Sometimes I wonder why things dont shine no matter how much you buff and file,
or why flowers might make you sniffle and cough.
I worry that One moment everything will be fine, then the next 'he is just a friend'
And the only sweet advice my friends will lend,
is that Every good thing has to come to an end.
