I Would Be Happy To Live In A Town Like This (Cavatina) Poem by Gert Strydom

I Would Be Happy To Live In A Town Like This (Cavatina)

I would be happy to live in a town
like this, with houses,
a big old brick church with a high column,
girls in blouses
that are talking carefree, smiling at me;
some young spouses
are walking hand in hand as they do talk,
a hollyhock flowers pink on its stalk.
