I Would Rather Poem by Jaycee Wilkerson

I Would Rather

Circles the world
Has me running
Out dated to the
problems coming
I look to the sky
I see a storm coming

Yet the circles
Im still running
Help needed but
No one hears my crys
I would rather die before
a person could see my tears fall
I would rather crawl before
I walk with some of yall

So to my knees i fall
Crawling till there raw
Determined to win
Because Im soo use to losing
This life we live is soo confusing

Life is precious but
I feel I still need a reason to live
Alone to face
content in my space
needing time
For the negative to erase

So much pain
I could use some grace
life is funny
But living is no joke
Sometimes i have to pinch myself
Because I can't tell when Im awoke

Im in a zone
which is a lane
I ride in all alone
Never stopping
Because i dont have a home
changed life in a flash of a eye
Before I give in I would rather die

So much hurt in this life I would rather fly
Walking this grounded life makes you think twice
No Im not giving up
Im just reliving the harsh moments
That stick out of my memory
