I Would Write About Poem by Francis Duggan

I Would Write About

Were I a Nature poet I would write about
The roo and the rabbit the platypus and trout
And the animals and birds I does see every day
If I were one with words who did have a way
In Nature every day such great beauty to see
It is all around you and it is all around me
In the gray August sky the sun hidden away
But the magpies are singing in Illowa today
Were I a Nature Poet I would surely write
Poems that lovers of Nature would love to read and recite
To our Earth Mother who feeds us humans and all
Other living life forms from the great to the small
And though I am not a poet the beauty I see
That is in Nature everywhere around me.
