Iamstupid Poem by Izik Alcox

Iamstupid

I was born into a world where theirs a lack of common sense
A world of convenience and consequence
A world where money rules and greed is at large
This reality is just not for me, to live in stress, a lovely mess
Of contradictory enigmas relating only to those who play the game
Live for your dollar cherish your dollar
Cause one day your dollar will be taken away
wait for that day, you'll lose it all, go hide and ball
Cause your whole life rested in materials, not your insides
Yourself, define yourself or do you even know
The harsh reality that style and fashion have taken away self
Replaced with words Khakis your Tommys
Clothes are to keep us warm and clean
But you use it as a bulletin board for men racking in the dough
Sin is within, greed is the feed of the real sinful seal that appeals,
to your body, while your soul is drowned underneath a thick coat,
of fashioned statements you use and lose your conscience,
a marmalade spread only to pamper your bread
Should we conform or should we fight, reform into the light,
with no greed and a little creed, our race could claim its place
Instead we'd rather take, 'this is mine cause I say so'
well you know what people have told you, I figured it out on my own
so I guess I'm stupid, cause I observe and contemplate instead of
believing it without the whys and how comes,
I'm stupid cause I can't just let them teach me, in this reality of our society,
like you'd all go far without your silver spoons...
oh well I guess I'm just stupid to you.
