Ice-Cream Poem by Kishore Kumar Das

Ice-Cream

From the school children
to the ageing mass
no dessert is so popular
as ice-cream
child's pride
adult's envy
for a fraction of time
one forgets
all worldly problems
the wild sensation
with tongue immersed in the cream
the touch of sub-zero
cools the mind
assorted colours
mouth-watering taste
a preface
to oral love-making
the delicacy
the sweetness
the taste
the smile
is it not
the material form of love?
