Ice Memories Poem by Marilyn Lott

Ice Memories

Rating: 5.0

Ice crystals on the window pane
Clustered all around
A see-through world is created
In the winter I have found

It took a dip again that night
Into the single numbers
And into the early morning
After our nightly slumber

Brrrrr, how the chill penetrates
The bones of man and beast
Gotta stoke the fire up
So some warmth can be released

So I look at those ice memories
That adorn the photo album
Sure does cool you down in summer
Almost makes you numb

One thing that’s great about photos
You can drag them out anytime
Ice cycles adorning the trees
In the hot summer would feel just fine!
