Icon Poem by Hans Raj Sharma

It's easy to face
Any eventuality
Except-
Intellectual terrorism.
A threat:
Tracking the terror
From light to grave
Grievances-
Nourishing
With a sharp twist.

Though
A good omen
For the old and big
World democracies
Pragmatically-
If driven by optimism.

But-
Riley really angry
The blackish humour
That goes missing
Such sweetness
In the city of joy
Between the singing
And acting-
A word and action
Playing it, all foul
Out of selfish ends
With a mike and camera
Absolutely damaging
Misrepresentation.

Some more bitter words
To cut a long story short:
Pursuing perfection
Once in a while
The bar code
Silence please
Peace and peace
But, for hushing up
Bearing the cravings
For humour and wit
Posing airs
On serious lines
To rise like phoenix
Letting-
Peace prevail
Happy go lucky
After the death
Death of harsh truth!

Welcoming-
Superhero-criminals
The Society so much so
Taking for good will
To be fit for-
With all smiles
And annoyance
As its right Icons.
