Icy Pine Poem by Marilyn Lott

Icy Pine

Nestled amongst the needles
Of a Pine tree one wintery day
Was a collection of icy particles
Like nature's example on display

This Pine was taking the weather
Pretty much in its stride
So beautiful with the changes
That it didn't want to hide

Its smell was fresh and pungent
As it stood so tall and cool
For this Pine tree was imposing
It was definitely nobody's fool

I snapped a picture of it
And then snapped two or more
It looked at me with coolness
As though I were a bore

I wanted to say something
I wished that it could speak
I know it would be honest
And would not at all be meek

I smiled as I turned my camera off
For it seemed so very brave
Climbed back into my car
Then gave a casual wave!
