If only I knew the sorrow I could cause,
If only I knew the pain I could inflict,
If only I stopped and paused,
I would have known what to predict.

If only I knew the hurt that was on its way,
If only I knew how to please,
If only I listened and actually prayed,
It would have put all at ease.

If only I knew the devastated hearts I would leave,
If only I knew how to be honest and true,
I would have saved the tears my loved ones had to give,
If only I knew.
