If Ever I Start Crying Poem by George Knott

If Ever I Start Crying

If ever I start crying,
There are two people,
Who know everything,
Every explicit detail.

They could tear me down,
But chose to build me up.
They help me when I frown,
And stop me when I strop.

They are my lover,
And my best friend.
They pull me out of the gutter,
When I hope for an end.

They only know me best,
Because they are the people,
Who never let it rest,
And gave up their freedom.

The shackled themselves to me,
So they knew whenever I fell.
They are now the key,
To bringing me back from hell.

But if you see me crying,
There's a few things you can do.
But whatever you end up trying,
I will always thank you.

But the best thing that you could do,
Would be to call them,
They'll see me through,
And drag me back, to live again.
