If Heaven Falls Poem by mark tallant

If Heaven Falls

Prop up the skies and batten the walls
Set sail for the sun before night falls.
Role up the shores and pack away the gulls
Herd in the cattle and raging Bulls.
Shut down the airways and cancel all calls.
Prepare for the worst if heaven falls.

Lock away your thoughts, store away your dreams
Shelter your heart from falling beams,
Avert your eyes from the devastating scenes.
Tie up the Earth before it splits at the seams.
Don’t hide in the doorways, don’t gather in the halls
Come down from high ground, if heaven falls.

Warn all the angels, Pray to the Gods
If the world ends, we’ll be floating on clods
And when the dust clears, and we see clearly the view
The only one standing Hannah, is you.
Your love is so dear, so precious to all
I Fear if I lose it, Heaven will fall!
