If humanity destroyed the world and we rebuilt it with words-
'Just as I used to say, love comes harder to the aged'-
If my mind was broken down and my heart was surrounded-
The water of my life was his 'Coney Island of the mind'-
Never mind the unlikely friends that you meet-
When the view from the top is rivalry-
If we could destroy the world and rebuild it with poetry-
My mirror would be made of Leaves of Grass-
Lay out in the sun and imagine best of this sunshine-
In our own words and in our own world-
Come and join the laughter and sound-
Running down our fear with all those let downs-
If humanity destroyed the world and filled our hearts with words-
Could we survive this life made suicide and this curse?
'Just as I used to say, love comes harder to the aged'-
